Balance activity

Book "Jesus The Same" - one section

Jesus was Complete

With Jesus, we are in the presence of man without flaw, complete, balanced

  • He is enuthusiastic but never fanatical
  • He is emotional but never hysterical
  • He is practical but never dull
  • He is courageous but never reckless
  • He is imaginative but never flighty
  • He is prudent but never a coward
  • He is unique but not eccentric
  • He is sympathetic but never sentimental

He was so complete, well-rounded, men could not classifiy him, but they tried...

Mark 12:13-17

Came to Jesus and tried to trap and label him by his answer by present him a question a tax

How do you reacted?

  • What if he had said "Yes, pay"? = He made the many of enemies of the Jews
  • What if he had said "No, refuse to pay"? = He would have proven he was a traiter to Rome

On trial going before going to the cross, after three years, they could not find anything to accuss him of

We are not complete without him

Average man or woman is one-sided, unsymmetrical, unevenly developed in many different parts of lives

  • Spirit and Truth
  • Life and Docutrine
  • Jew and Gentile
  • Narrow Road

What are strengths and weakness? Where have we grown uneven?

  • IT example - If we are strong in one characteristic, we are likely weak in the oppisite characteristic
  • Trivia - Geography, Science,  vs History, Art, Entertainment

We are made complete in Jesus

Colossians 2:6-10

6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. 8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. 9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.
