In 1916 - Albert Einstein didn't like where his calculations were going because he believed the universe was eternal
His calculation were revealing there was a definite beginning to all time, matter and space
Hubble discovered a "red shift" in the light which meant galaxies were moving away from us, expanding from a single point in the distant past
Einstein's cosmological constant now completely crushed by the weight of the evident against it
If the universe had a beginning, then the universe had a cause:
Law of Causality = the fundamental principle of science
With the Law of Causality, science is even impossible
"True knowledge is knowledge by causes" - Francis Bacon, father of modern science
Its what scientist do - they try to discover what caused what - cancer, weight gain, etc
If someone does not believe in the Law of Causality, the question becomes = What caused you to come to that conclusion?
