Should we pray in public or in private?
Matthew 6 does not as much focus on public prayer as it does on hyocritical prayer - "And when you pray, you are not to pray as hypocrites."
Jesus condemns the prayers designed to gather favor in the eyes of men. Nothing contradictory here.
Public prayer disapproved- Matthew 6:6 - When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father
Public prayer done- 1 Kings 8:21-54 - Solomon stood in front of the whole assembly of Israel and prayed
