Miracle vs Non-miracle

A miracle is a devine act:

• Instanteous beginning of a powerful act
• Intelligent design and purpose (not entertainment)
• Promotes good and right behavior
• Can not be explained naturally
• Can not be connected  with error or immorality
• Used to confirm the word of God

Other unusal event categories:

Providence - can done with natural law but God may have been behind it undirectly. Answered prayer and unlikely but benefical happensing can be examples.

Statanic Signs - With limited power and free will but for evil purposes.

Example: pharoh's magicians replicated the first two miracles but could not do the third - Exodus 8:7

Satan can do limited counterfiet miracles - 2 Thessalonians 2:9

Psychosomatic - our mental state can have affect on our physical health but it is not a miracle in of itself - Proverbs 17:22

Magic - A sleigh tof hand  or misleading the mind is entertainment not a miracle

Anomalies - are not connected with interlligent truth claims and lack moral and theological dimension

Miracles today?

About 250 miracles in the Bible during a short time window when God was confirming triuth

God is not confirming any new revelation today - like a house, the foundation only needs to be laid once
