6. The Disciples Faith Led their Belief in the Resurrection

The appearances led to their faith, they then searched the scriptures

They first reaction to the resurrection was to go and hide. It was the resurrection that gave them bold faith

7. New Testament Writers Copied Pagan Resurrection Myths

• New Testament is loaded with eyewitness accounts
• Pagan-myth theory can not explain the empty tomb and martyrdom o fthe eyewitnesses
• Non-Christian sources knew that the New Testament writers were not offering mythical accounts
• No Greek or Romans myths spoke of a literal incarnation of monotheisitc God into human form, both of a virgin followed by dead and resurrection
• First parallel of a dying and rising god does not appear until 100 years after
