2010-09-20 - Waking Dead - Christ's Great Works Son's three great works on our behalf 1. Cross accomplished many thing Forgiveness and the power to overcomes the constant attacks from the enemy 2. Resurrection Having put off the old self, we are to put on the new - Ephesians 4:24 It is life we were promised and it is life we need 3. Ascension All authority was given to Christ By the grace of God, we share that with him It was Adam who gave it away and it was Christ who won it back Lord of the Rings, Two Towers - Theoden (a king) who is reluctant to go to war Open war is upon you whether you would risk it or not - Aragorn The primary reason most people do not know the freedom and life Christ promised is that they won't fight for it
2010-09-23 - Waking Dead - It Must Be Intimate Most churches offer small group activities but they are usually short lived for two reasons: 1. Can't just throw a random group together and then it instantly become allies Closeness takes time - playing, working, helping, living together develops relationships All the believers were one in heart - Acts 4:32
You can study til you are blue in the face but it will not heal a broken heart A small fellowship needs to be a redemptive community and one that protects Idea: In a group - write down 5 words or phrases that captures your life right now Then find what stories or scenes or characters help you interpret those words
2010-09-24 - Waking Dead - It Will Be Messy Going to a church service with hundreds of people will never expose you That is what most prefer - because community will It will bring you close and you will be seen and you will be known Therein lies the power and the danger The enemy hates this: he knows it can be powerful and God and his kingdom Remember divide and conquer? This is his way Most have settled for safety in numbers - a comfortable, anonymous distance An army that keeps meeting for briefings, but never breaks into platoons and goes to war Community is like camping together Stuff is scattered out there for everyone to see During fellowship there are two important things to remember 1. Know the heart is good - so much easier to trust and to forgive We are for one another 2. Know that we are at war The enemy is always trying to pull everyone away
2010-10-08 - Contagious Christian - Attractiveness of Authenticity (part 2) Authentic Emotional life Expressing sadness or hurt or grief are not signs of low faith or shallow character There are two negative consequences when a person outlaws certain feelings
Remember what Jesus did when His friend Lazarus died? He wept Authentic Confession How Christian deal with their foul-ups and failures The thinking here is that our moral missteps will drive people away But actually, It is a powerful witness to the transforming power of Christ Zacchaeus' household was converted because he was very open with what he did wrong Today authentic confession cause a seeker in today's non-fault society to realize that only the living God would prompt a person to say "it is my fault and I am sorry"

QUESTIONS

2010-11-29 - Trusting God - Samuel Preached by Rob Milner Read 1 Samuel 13 Following God's instruction is the key to our success 1 Samuel 10:8 - Go to Gilgal and wait for 7 days and then we will sacrifice Samuel was the judge before their were kings Saul waited for 7 days but did not wait to do the burnt offerings He did not follow God's instructions exactly How long before we stop waiting? Ever wanted to take matters into our own hands? There is nothing as good as trusting and then God fulfilling his promise There are two battles:
James 4:7-8 - God calls us to submit to him fully Trust in God and not your situation
Protect your blacksmiths or you will be found defenseless 1 Samuel 13:19-21 What are the blacksmiths of our lives?
| ||||||||||||||||||
2010-12-02 - Mission - Taking Up the Cross Two questions to ask ourselves: Is the power of the cross producing real changes in my life? Are lost souls being radically converted as I preach? The message of the cross will seem foolish to those we are teaching if they do not see the daily demonstration of its power for us who are being saved Christians described in Romans 6
Our days are composed of countless choices and decisions Each step that Jesus took towards the cross he took willingly It takes 1000s of bricks to build a house, it takes 1000s of righteous choices to build a Christ-like character Our hearts - lost world needs to know how we feel towards our Father Our conversation - we should never get tired of telling our conversation story Our example - Our daily temptations and victories should be only shared
2010-12-08 - Mission - Cannot Help Proclaiming (part II) What else compelled Peter and John? 3. Having a spiritual perspective of the plan of God God orchestrated situations so people will find him - Acts 17:26-27 Satan can lull us to sleep with his lies If I miss this opportunity, maybe God will use someone else, they don't look interested They apostles felt the burden of salvation They were convicted that they were the only hope of salvation If they stopped, hope was gone We must have a heartfelt conviction that we are God's vehicles to reach a lost and desperate world 4. Must understand that Satan's victory/defeat is determined by our faithfulness to proclaim the word of God boldly We have two God-given weapons:
He wins every time we do not open our mouth - we must not be silent
2010-12-09 - Mission - Cannot Fail The harvest is plentiful; ask the Lord of the harvest - Luke 10:2 Those who have taken up the work must devote themselves to prayer What they get from him is something they can not find in themselves Prayer is not the only important thing needed, it is just the most important thing to the harvest Obstacles are many for those working in the harvest There is not one that cannot be overcome with prayer Efforts to bring the harvest often stop because the workers run into problems or frustration Problem begin to look larger than the mission They lose their fire and joy Jesus says there is a problem (workers are few) but there is not despair The problem is an opportunity for perseverance and faith Frustrations and challenges differ but two things remain the same

2011-02-08 - Fearing God - Glorious Truth (part I) Christianity means a relationship with God How can you have a relationship with someone you fear? There was a time when committed Christians were known as God-fearing people God delights in those who fear him What is the fear of God? The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom - Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge - Proverbs 1:7 Wisdom and knowledge are not the same Knowledge is the accumulation of information Two people can have the same knowledge and but do different times with them
Knowledge can lead to righteousness - Titus 1:1
2011-03-21 - God Is (part II) Day two of studying who God is:
| ||||||||||||||||||
2011-05-26 - Fearing God - Slave or Son Two types of fear:
He went out and hid his talent in the ground - Matthew 25:24-25 The devil is the author of servile fear - he uses it to haunt and disturb Christians to make our lives uncomfortable Filial fear is loving fear of a child toward his father A mixture of reference, pleasure, joy, and awe which fills our hearts when we realize who God is and what He has done for us There are 150 references to the fear of God, most in the Old Testament Ones in the New Testament convince us that fearing God is an attitude of the heart
2011-06-26 - Mind of Christ - Helping People (part I) We must gain the mind of Christ in regard to helping people Romans 15:1-3 - We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves His baptism and temptation prepared the way for helping people.
1. He possessed a great desire to work for and please God.
Compassion: Sympathetic conscious of another’s distress, together with desire to alleviate it, pity coupled with an urgent desire to aid or to spare. Examples:

Which side of the table do I tend to say more of?
2011-07-02 - Mind of Christ - Relationship with God (part III) The oneness Jesus had with His Father is revealed to us for two reasons: 1. It shows us the pattern for our relationship with God
| ||||||||||||||||||
2011-08-11 - Daughter Needs - Loving Kindness A daughter needs a father's gentleness, protective favor to intercede for her against those who would do her wrong Two tendencies to limit their kindness:
Do you give your daughter far more positive comments then negative? Say something positive, then say "do better" next time?
2011-08-25 - Fearing God - His Unseen Hand God's wisdom is not apparent to us None had the intention of caring out God's plan:
| ||||||||||||||||||
2011-08-27 - Fearing God - Healthy Tension In the physical world, there are two opposing forces:
Centrifugal force helps us understand those attributes of God We are to hold our reverent distance because of his holiness and sovereignty Centripetal force represents the love of God His grace and mercy draws us to Him To exercise a proper fear of God we must understand the opposing forces of His holiness and His love Both the recognition of our weakness/sinfulness and the love and humble gratitude are displayed in our fear of God
2011-08-28 - Fearing God - Awe and Gratitude Awe and Gratitude are two expressions of the proper way of fearing God With you there is forgiveness, therefore you are feared - Psalms 130:4 Neither awe nor gratitude alone can represent adequately show the meaning of the fear of the Lord At the same time:
More than God is loving, he is love This is love: He sent his Son as a atoning sacrifice - 1 John 4:9-10 God showed his love by sending His Son.
2011-09-01 - Fearing God - Requirements for growth (part I) The first requirement of growing in fear is having an undivided heart Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name - Psalms 86:11 It dentoes singleness of purpose, aim, and affections Second requirement is regular, consistent exposure of our minds and hearts to His Word:
Saul fell down in fear before Christ

2011-09-16 - Proverbs on Purity (part I) Proverbs 15:26 - Pure thoughts are pleasing to God We live in a time where we need Godly teaching about purity. Lets take a journey on the Path To Purity. #1. Lust leads to destruction Proverbs 7:21-23 - The Bible is clear that nothing good will come out of giving into lust. Ox going to slaughter, deer in a noose, bird in a snare, etc Proverbs 6:28-29 - To overcome lust in your life you must understand and believe that lust is not just sinful but wasteful also. Both the lustful look and the lustful act are wrong before God. What are some of the effects (consequences) of living a lustful life?
#2. Flee from Lust Proverbs 1:10-16 Illustration: In the movie Pinocchio, a wooden boy comes to life.
We must pick friends that will encourage us spiritually and not lead us down the path of destruction.
2011-09-18 - Proverbs on Integrity (part I) Proverbs 19:22 - Poor person is better than a liar Proverbs 20:17 - Gains by fraud ends up being worthless The 1996 New York Times had a story on a golfer named Jeff Sluman.
When someone is a person of integrity he/she is someone that has wholeness about him either.

2011-10-05 - Genesis 5 - Genealogies (part I)SummaryAdam's line was: Seth, Enosh, Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech and Noah. Noah's sons were Shem, Ham and Japheth. ObservationsGenesis 5:2 - He created them male and female and blessed them Personal ApplicationThe challenge for me is simple: To finish the race [Acts 20:24] with great faith and perseverance. But not just to get by but to have a relationship with God that shines before others. When people talk about me, do they stop and mention my relationship with God like the Bible does with Enoch? What does God say about my faith?
2011-10-07 - Genesis 7 - The Flood (part II)SummaryNoah and his family went into the ark with two of each creature. It rained for forty days and forty nights and the earth was covered. ObservationsGenesis 7:1 - I have found you righteous in this generation Personal ApplicationI need to look for what I see as gray areas in my life. When I am neither hot nor cold [Revelation 3:16], I am not aware of where I am.
2011-10-08 - Genesis 8 - The Flood (part III)SummaryThe flood abated. Noah sent out a raven and two doves. When the earth was dry God called them all out of the ark. Noah built an altar. ObservationsGenesis 8:1 - But God remembered Noah Personal ApplicationI seem to forget the lessons of difficult times as soon as the pain has lifted. We go through tough times so our character can mature and grow but will I have to go through the same lessons again to learn the same lessons. I want to be grateful for God's discipline (does not come naturally) and change my character accordingly. God discipline the ones he loves, I need to remember why He is doing it [Hebrews 12:6].
2011-10-17 - Genesis 17 - Abram becomes Abraham SummaryGod made a covenant with Abram and renamed him Abraham. He renamed Sarai Sarah and promised them a son. The men were circumcised. ObservationsGenesis 17:9 - As for you, you must keep my covenant Personal ApplicationI know I can one-sided and stubborn in my thoughts and sometimes in my relationships. When I get my mind set to do something, that is the way it is. This can be a strength in some situations but a very big weakness if I am contrary to God's thinking. I need to be humble and allow God to change my thoughts and my ways.
2011-11-28 - Gratitude (part I) The topic of gratitude is extremely important and one that we probably don’t stress enough. As a new disciple you want to get into some good habits of gratitude. Being thankful to God for your salvation is really just the beginning. Being grateful for every situation you find yourself in is the goal. In the study, we will look at God’s call be thankful. Gratitude is a commandment of God

2011-12-10 - Day 7 - The Family of God Mark 3:31-33
Who are some people in your ministry that can become like spiritual "fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters" in your life? Application: This week schedule time to spend with two Christians that you have not spent time with before.

2012-01-04 - Day 32 - Walking as Jesus did 1 John 2:5-6 - Think back over the past several days. Are you walking like Jesus? Mark 1:21-28
| ||||||||||||||||||
2012-01-23 - Ministry - Unless You Change Matthew 18:2-4 Deeply rooted in the mature of adults is a strong sense of resistance to change. Even when we feel deeply discontent with our lives, we are more willing to stay in the familiarity of our misery than to venture into the untested waters of change. Fortunately, Jesus, in his desire to put us out of our misery, makes it clear that for a Christian to make it to heaven we must keep on changing. We must choose to grow even if it is challenging, difficult, tiring, confusing or scary. Why this strong direction? Because there is just so much about our hearts, character, habits, lives that the Lord wants to change! Too many souls will be lost if we stop growing. Jesus gives us the secret to change in the same verse - humble yourself. Thank God we live in a kingdom where the Lord rushes to help the humble. He will send the word, wise advice from a disciple, a protecting angel, and a physical blessing, all to the humble. It seems that we have two choices: Be humbled or get humbled. Questions:
| ||||||||||||||||||
2012-01-27 - Ministry - Do You Stand Up For Jesus? Matthew 14:1-12 These verses show clearly two different convictions. Herod was swayed by his sin to do even greater sin and John the Baptist never gave in to fear about confronting Herod with his sin of adultery. John the Baptist could have been fearful about confronting a king on his sin. Obviously it bothered Herod's conscience enough that he wanted John killed. Herod had a people-pleasing, weak-willed character because in vs. 5 he did not kill John for fear of the people. He also then had John Killed because of Herodias' influence. What is your character more like-people-pleasing or God pleasing? Pray to have a conscience today that convicts you to stand up for what is right and not give into pleasing others.
2012-01-28 - Ministry - Compromise or Conviction? John 6: 60-69; Luke 9: 57-62; Luke 14:25-33;Matt. 18:5-9 How many times do we face the decision to compromise our faith just to win the approval of people around us or to be so desperately accepted? We know we should be strong, we know we should have deep convictions and take a stand for God, but we give into the peer pressure at school, work, and the people-pleasing non-conflict avoiding sinful nature inside all of us! We want to be liked! We want to avoid confrontation, conflict, and courageously calling others out of sin! Jesus loved God and others so much he was willing to tell the truth no matter how it made someone feel! He preached what people needed to hear and not what they wanted to hear! He laid out the hard teachings with convictions not with apologies! Even when disciples decided to leave and no longer follow him, he did not compromise the truth! He let them leave and challenged others,"do you want to leave to?" Are you ready to die to compromise? What are the areas where you compromise your faith? Identify two areas that you consistently compromise in either at work, home or on campus? How often do you compromise? Share with your spouse, friends or d-group what you give-in to and your desire to want to change.
2012-02-17 - Fear of Failure - Openness Leads to Success by Bernard Jones, San Francisco Church of Christ 1 John 1:5-9; Proverbs 28:13 One of my biggest fears as a disciple is being totally open with my life. I am afraid that if people know me they will not want to be around me. For the last two years I have been deceitful about the condition of my marriage, finances, and my life. This has led me to feel discouraged and despondent. Many times I tried to fix the problem by transferring balances on credit cards, discipling myself, etc. I did all this because I didn't want people to see the true me. Being in the ministry can be a temptation to pretend to be someone I am not. One decision I have made is to be completely open about everything that is going on. Like Proverbs 28:13 says, if you are open, you will prosper. Since I have become repentant, I have seen my marriage grow, have been personally fruitful three times, and have a plan to be totally debt free in four years. I have realized that when I am open and real, God can use me to do great things. Is there anything you haven't been open about? Make a decision to be open today so God can bring prosperity to your life!
2012-11-05 - Unknown Romance Other than the official channels, he also speak to us through what happens to us Our inner story is audible early in the morning and the middle of the night - when the inner editor is off duty Our heart is captured by mystery - it was one of the great things about being a child As adults, we have learned to tell ourselves that it is naive, we need to move to more reasonable things He think we have outgrown it and it was just foolishness of a child Contemporary Christianity teaches us to mistrust this New Age heresy In all of our hearts there lies a longing for a Sacred Romance It will not away in spite of our years of ignoring it Romance couched in mystery is set deep within us We desire to be part of something larger than ourselves We have two deep desires:
It is the core of our spiritual journey Any religion that ignores it survives only as guilt-induced legalism, a set of propositions to be memorized and rules to be obeyed What does these desires have to do with God? Hasn't God left us with them to draw us closer to him?
2012-11-07 - Message of the Arrows (part I) There are two things that pierce the human heart: beauty and affliction David describes the enemies ways as arrows - Psalms 91:3-5 We have many arrows that fly in during our life:
What will we do with the Arrows we have known? The message of the Arrows is always the same: Kill your heart How did the Arrows come to you? Deciding not to be affected can not done - the heart can not be managed though a x number step process
2013-03-06 - Prayer of the Righeous - More Powerful Than We Can Imagine (part II) Two different responses to God's power: 1. Moses doubted God's power to feed the 600,000 men 2. Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego faced the furnace John the Baptist described God's power and man's insignifiance - Matthew 3:3
Imagine trying to asking a clerk compensate for dust when weighing an item for purchase - it would be absurd How do you current view God?
2013-06-25 - Why we need men of resolution (part II) Our relationship with our father is very telling as to why we are and who we are. “What does my dad really think about me?” Lots of fathers don’t realize their vital role. Many issues come from fathers having lost their sense of purpose. Society is guiding boys to remain boys as long as possible— extending childhood into their thirties—while forcing girls to become women long before they are ready. Millions of young men are staying single. They want the privileges and rewards of manhood but only the responsibilities and moral requirements of boys. God has a special place in His heart for two specific groups of people: fatherless children and widows. Dad have good intention but there many things working against them:
Devil will never stop attacking what God prioritizes.
2013-10-10 - Resolve to Lead Your Marriage Do you realize that as the leader of your home? We must take courage and always be willing to make the first move, God has put something into men that longs to be courageous. The idea of 50/50 leadership is a farce that creates two heads and two directions. History is littered with self-centered men who have dominated, belittled, ignored, and abused their wives in the name of male leadership. Jesus, God’s Son was the most powerful leader of all time Lead your wife by serving her well.
2014-03-17 - Teach Them to Fear the Lord (part I) If you and your wife had two children and trained them to faithfully live for Christ, and both of them raised two more children to faithfully live for Christ as well, then those same ten generations could produce 1,024 faithful believers. Teach the Word “diligently” to your children “when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up” - Deuteronomy 6:7 Instruct “to fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments” - Deuteronomy 6:2 Love, truth, and respectful fear go hand in hand. Fearing the Lord transforms our thinking.
2014-05-31 - Genesis 24 - Search for the Bride of Isaac (part II)SummaryEliezer met Rebekah by the well exactly as he had prayed. ObservationsGenesis 24:12 - Please give me success today ApplicationI do not have the dependant prayer I need to have. I have many failures because I depend on myself and do not ask God.
2015-02-15 - Our Source of Joy Yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation - Habakkuk 3:17-18 What we think about and focus on really does affect our attiutde - The Power of Positive Thinking Habakkuk fortold:
Habakkuk grieved over the coming destruction but he did sink into despair Joy in God was a choice, Babylonians or no Babylonians To maintain his joy, he counted two truths
His loving God was the one constant in his life
| ||||||||||||||||||
2015-03-19 - Irrelevance Ten of the Tweleve Spies: Next to them we felt like grasshoppers - Numbers 13:32-33 Two fo the spies, Joshua and Caleb, ecounraged the people to enter the land and take possession - right then! The other spies froze in their tracks the first time they perceived an obstacle Faith is believing God always keeps his word and then acting on that belief God is bigger than our obstacles
2015-04-06 - Confidence How much longer will you waver between two opinions - 1 Kings 18:20-21 Elijah demonstrated that kind of confidence in hos heavenly Father when he challenged 450 priest of Baal to match the power of the true and living God When he had seen the sad spectacle of Baal's priest, he called on God to remind the people who he was Elijah never had a doubt about what would happen next Place your complete confidence in the one true God
2015-06-16 - Restored Jesus' words flashed through Peter's mind and he went away, weeping bitterly - Matthew 26:75 God offers forgiveness for even the worst of sins and the worst of sinners Peter learned this firsthand Theories abound as to why Judas' motivation for betraying Jesus, but for Peter it was clear, he was afraid Judas and Peter both:
Two remorseful sinners but only one turned back to the Lord
2015-06-27 - Path to Greatness We want to sit in places of honor next to you - Mark 10:37 Culture doesn't always value putting others' needs and desires first but that is exactly what is needed to achieve greatness James and John wanted Jesus to give them the two highest seats of honor when Jesus assumed his throne This did not set well with the rest of the disciples - likely wanted this too The path to greatness is found by serving others - this seems backward Your humility will be richly rewarded
2015-07-18 - Don't Panic Paul urged everyone to eat; you have not touched food for two weeks - Acts 27:33 When problems arise and overwhlm us, are we tempted to "fly off the handle" or panic? A vicious storm slammed Paul's boat and conviced even seanoned sailors they were going to die Paul had been through enough in his life of faith to know God would allow him to complete his appoined mission without dying. God promised not a hair on their head will perish during the trip We can find peace knowing nothing happens to us unless our heavenly Father allows it Our situations may not be easy or fun but God still remains in control
2015-07-26 - Obey and Wait This only a simple thing for the Lord - 2 Kings 3:18 "You first, God" approach to obedience often means missing out on his blessings and maybe a miracle or two Israel march against Moab but the soliders had run out of water Eliaha spoke to God and would provide water under one condition: they were to dig ditches in the valley and wait for God to act Their choice was to laugh and ignore the command or obey and wait for a miracle Jehoshaphat and Joram acted in faith and obedience - received more water than they knew what to do with When God commands you to do something that seems humanly unreasonable, do you act immediately or wait for him to act first?
2015-08-01 - Listen No one said a word to Job, for they saw that his suffering was too great for words - Job 2:13 Many men struggle with just listening - why God gave us two ears and only one mouth At first Job's friends were the exactly the kind of friends he needed After Job had spoken, they began speaking but instead of comforting him they tried to fix his problems - which made things worst Sometimes it is best to just listen instead of trying to fix things
2015-08-04 - Appearance Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife - Matthew 1:20 It's hard to imagine Joseph not making some assumptions when his fiancee told him she was pregnant Joseph onlyknew two things:
What would his family think? Would they buy the story? Would he buy his own story? God saw his heart and knew that he was the right man for the job As Joseph slept, God confirmed Mary's story and told Joseph to not be afraid to marry her God allowed Joseph the privilege of caring for the most important child ever born
2015-08-15 - Temptation Come and sleep with - she demanded. But Joseph refused - Genesis 39:7-8 Sometimes God calls us to stand up to temptation and fight like a man but other times he instructs us to run away God calls us to avoid sexual temptation and to run from it Joesph was likely attracted to the wife of his master Potiphar and she really wanted Joseph He refused to betray his master and he had two options: resist the seduction or flee Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts - 2 Timothy 2:22
2015-09-22 - Full Obedience An angel gave me this command from the Lord .. but the old man was lying to him - 1 Kings 13:18 The prophet from Judah failure to fully obey God's instructions led to personal disaster:
The prophet excuted the first part perfectly:
But the second part he failed - when home with an eldery prophet from Bethel because "God told him to" Partial obedience is really disobedience The prophet listened and lost everything - 1 Kings 13
2015-09-24 - Harmonious Service There's a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish - John 6:8-9 Only once does the New Testament mention Andrew's name without connecting him with Peter - John 12:22 Andrew is last mentioned with the remaining elven disciples - Acts 1:13 He established his reputation on bring people to Jesus:
Andrew recognized his role and understood and accepted it You play an important role like Andrew - bring people to him one by one
| ||||||||||||||||||
2015-10-04 - The Reward A faithful, sensible servant is the one who the master can give responsibility - Matthew 24:45 There are two people in the workplace:
Jesus told a story about a master's trust in a servant who demonstrated faithfulness in big and small issues That led the master to leave more important responsiblities to the faithful servant Are you faithful in serving God and your employer? He will reward your faithfulness
2015-10-29 - Integrity They are honest and trustworthy men - 2 Kings 22:7 The unnamed men who supervised the restoration of the Temple were so honest that Josiah ordered the high priest to stop keeping accounts of the money they spent to repair God's holy Temple Josiah wrote what amounted to a blank check to get the work done Why? Because they had already proved themselves faithful How do you conduct yourself when no one is watching? When you demonstrate integrity in everything you say and do, you earn the trust of those in authority over you
2015-11-17 - God Sees Us Shamgar once killed 600 Philistines with an ox goad - Judges 3:31 Shamgar was one of thirteen people who were judges in Israel Men and woman were responsible for maintaining law and order There are only two verses mentioning Shamgar, above and - Judges 5:6 Nothing is said about him except:
His name is not prominent in Scripture but God is well aware of everthing Shamagr did
2015-12-20 - Speak Up Absalom never spoke to Amnon about this - 2 Samuel 13:22 Absalom showed what happens when the lines of communication between two people break down He had every right to feel angry about Amnon rapping his sister What went wrong is his refusing to talk about it and making no effort to try to resolve the situation - Amnon felt sorry for what he had done Absalom's anger grew deep inside until it became implacable hatred He waited for the right opportunity to order his servants to kill Amnon - 2 Samuel 13:28 Absalom paid a heavy price for his failure to resolve his conflict openly and peacefully
