What do you think the knigdom of God is?

Prophesied about the Kingdom of God:

1. Isaiah 2:1-4 - Isaiah 750BC

• In the last days, God will establish his mountain (place that he dwells) as chief among mountains (dwelling places) v2
• God's Kingdom will be raised above others (religions) and all nations will stream to it. v2
• The word of the Lord will go out from Jerusalem (God's word will be preached in Jerusalem) v3

2. Daniel 2:44 - Daniel 550BC - Kingdom will never be destoryed and endure forever
3. Daniel 7:18 - Daniel again
   • The saints of the most high will receiver the kingdom and possesss it forever
   • Saints means sanctified (set apart, separted from a group)
4. Matthew 3:1-3 - John the Baptist 25AD  - Preached that the Kingdom of God was near
5. Matthew 4:17 - Jesus - Kingdom is Near
6. Luke 17:20-21 - Jesus - Kingdom within you (not a physical facility but a personal lifestyle)
7. John 3:1-7 - Jesus: Must be born again (water/spirit)

Acts 1:1-11 - Jesus appeared for over 40 days and taught his disciples

Acts 2:1-24 - Predictions fulfilled

• Last Days (last days of the OT Law = Now - Blood of Jesus - Acts 2:5
• All Nations (Jews from every nation) - Acts 2:5
• Word of the Lord from Jerusalem - Acts 2:5
• Saints will possess forever - Acts 2:39-40
• Born of water and Spirit - Acts 2:38

Acts 2:42-47 - Fellowship of Believers
A. The people became Saints because they:

• Heard the message -
• Accepted the message - Acts 2:37
• Responded to the message - Acts 2:41

B. Commitment - they devoted themselves v42

• Apostles teaching - doctrine (scriptures/Bible)
• Fellowship - being with other believers
• Breaking of Bread - Communion
• Prayer - prayed together

Matthew 13:44-46 - Joys of finding the Kingdom
