From where did Jesus asend?

Note: It is the same author writing about the same place.

Bethany is on the western slope of the Mount of Olives (see map).
Describing the proper name of the land and the city are not opposite facts.

Possible Solution - Jesus may have begun his ascension from the mount and passed over Bethany in an westerly direction

Christ ascended from Bethany

Luke 24:50-51 - Led them out to the vicinity of Bethany...and was taken up into heaven

Christ ascended from Mount Olive

Acts 1:9-12 - Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven... from the hill called the Mount of Olives
