Were the people in the Bible really as old as it states?

Yes.

Some have suggested that years were actually months. For example 900 years/12 = 75 years.

If this was true than both Machalalel and Caninan had childen under the age of 6.

• Genesis 5:15 - Machalalel had children at age 65 (5 years old)
• Genesis 5:12 - Caninan had children at 70 (6 years old)
