Righteousness over feelings

John 8:30-32

The Jews felt like they were being righteous.

• They were the Jews - God’s holy people
• They had faith in Him - vs. 30
• They believe in Him - vs. 31

But Jesus said you must “hold to the truth” (obey) – this is what makes us righteous
When are we Jesus’ disciples? When we feel saved?
Jesus says that we must obey before we will know the truth. How?
What can we be set free from if we obey?
Key Phrase: Holding to the truth (obedience) is what God is looking for
