Christ’s example of self denial:

A. He emptied himself ~ Philippines 2:5-11

B. He inconvenienced himself

• Luke 9:58 - Son of Man has no place to lay his head
• Mark 6:30 - The apostles gathered around Jesus at unscheduled times

C. He disregarding himself.

• 2 Corinthians 8:9 - He became poor for our sake
• Romans 15:1-3 - Christ did not please himself
• John 5:30 - I seek not to please myself

D. He sacrificed himself.

• 1 John 3:16 - Jesus Christ laid down his life for us
  
• John 10:11 - The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep
