People dream of having servants
Most consider a servant’s life a life to avoid
Jesus was willing to go to the lowest position
- Born in a barn (Luke 2:4-7)
- Made himself nothing (Philippians 2:58)
- Did not come to be served, but to serve (Mark 10:43-45)
Jesus’ disciples were looking for a forceful liberator
Suffering, serving were on Jesus’ agenda
