What should the cross mean to us?

Read 1 CORINTHIANS 15:3-5.
The cross should be of 1st import
ance in our lives! We get a second chance in life because of what Jesus did for us!

Read ROMANS 6:1-4.
How is the death, burial and resurrection
applicable to me? First of all, we actually participated with Jesus in his death, burial and resurrection. We crucified the old self - all the sins and the obedience to the sinful nature. No more guilt for those sins! This grace should produce an incredible thankfulness in us. Are you grateful every day for being forgiven?

Read GALATIANS 2:20, 1 PETER 4:1,2.
Our purpose now is to da
ily put to death our sinful nature and obey God, imitating Jesus in everything! Are you trying to imitate Jesus in every area of your life? Do you think about what jesus would do and then do it? What areas do you need to repent in?

Read 1 JOHN 1:5-9.

purifies us if we are consistently confessing our s
in. Are you consistently confessing? God purifies you daily - do you realize that? How does this comfort you, motivate you and give you peace?

Read GALATIANS 5:24,25.
Now that we've crucified sin, we shou
ld keep in step with the Spirit. What are the fruits of the Spirit you should focus on personally? Are you keeping in step with the Spirit?

Read 2 CORINTHIANS 5:14-21.
The cross also means looking at
people differently. Now we see them spiritually, not in a worldly way. Rich, poor, race, education, language don't matter any more. We take on the same purpose as Jesus - to reconcile people to God! How are you doing as Christ's ambassador?

Read HEBREWS 12:1-4.
